Belfry Cottage: This charming cottage tucked away in Colyton was in desperate need of a full renovation due to neglect and damp issues. We are around 8 weeks from completion.
This charming period cottage, situated within the town centre of Colyton, needed a full refurbishment. The property had been neglected for a few years before our client purchased it and suffered from major damp issues.
Our client approached us hoping that we could bring a new lease of life into her new venture and create a beautifully presented cottage suitable for a holiday home. The cottage required a new roof, rear external render, and everything internally needed stripping back ready to start fresh.
We removed the dividing wall between the kitchen and living space as well as creating a new opening in the rear for some patio doors which would lead onto a raised patio. The cottage also benefited from new electrics and plumbing throughout including a new modern boiler. To improve the energy efficiency of the building, we installed new doors and windows throughout, insulated plasterboard on the external walls and new radiators.
The cottage has been transformed into a fantastic holiday cottage for the whole family to enjoy. It has a new modern open feel whilst keeping the traditional cottage features it deserves.
